Most people think a great paint job is about the color or the finish. It's really about everything that happens before the first coat goes on. That's where a lasting result is either made or lost.
Here's what we were working with on this home - lap siding and vertical board sections covering a good amount of surface area, along with trim details, window surrounds, and areas near the roofline that all need to be handled carefully. Every one of those surfaces has to be properly prepped before paint ever touches it. That means cleaning, inspecting for any problem spots, and making sure the surface is ready to hold a coat the right way.
We take that process seriously. Skipping steps - or rushing through them - is exactly why some paint jobs start failing within a couple of years. Peeling, cracking, and uneven coverage almost always trace back to prep that wasn't done right. When we slow down on the front end, the finished product holds up longer and looks cleaner.
We'll be sharing the finished results on this one soon. But we wanted to show this stage of the work too, because it's the part that doesn't always get attention - and honestly, it's the part that matters most.
